We are perfectly located for those visiting the Tarland Trails (both the Pittenderich and Drummie woods sites), which are at their prime during the dry summer months.

  • Ballater Duck Festival: Sunday, June 7th, 2026. A fantastic family fun day on the village greens with stalls, music, and the famous duck race down the River Dee.
  • Royal Deeside Golf Week: July 19th – 24th, 2026. A 72-hole tournament played across four stunning local courses, including Aboyne and Ballater.
  • Banchory Show: Saturday, July 25th, 2026. A traditional agricultural show with livestock, local crafts, and family entertainment.
  • Aboyne Highland Games: Saturday, August 1st, 2026. Experience the “Traditional Highland Games” in the heart of the village—piping, dancing, and heavy athletics.
  • Tarland Show: Saturday, August 8th, 2026. Our local village show in the MacRobert Hall, showcasing the best of Cromar’s horticulture and rural handicrafts.
  • Ballater Victoria Week: August 8th – 16th, 2026. A week-long celebration featuring parades, workshops, and community events across the village.
  • Ballater Highland Games: Thursday, August 13th, 2026. Held at Monaltrie Park, this is a highlight of the Royal Deeside calendar.
  • Lonach Highland Gathering & Games: Saturday, August 22nd, 2026. Famous for the march of the Lonach Highlanders through Strathdon.
